Why we want to grow...

1.  Jesus Commanded it.  He told his followers to go to all nations and to teach, preach, heal and baptize.  "The nations" are not somewhere else.  They are here.  So our own core beliefs call us to invite  those we can reach to join us in following Jesus. 

2.  We either grow or die.  It is a natural law.  That applies numerically and spiritually.   

3.  There are people hungry for the Word.  We have been given the word as a trust, to share, not to hoard. We must not keep it from those who hunger for it. 

4. Strangers who come into our midst may be disguised angels, messengers of blessing, and we will miss much blessing if we do not invite and welcome them.  Our lives will be enriched by growth in numbers, and by growth in quality. 

5.  Our whole culture is very wounded.  By offering the world a healing place which includes anyone who is willing to pursue the disciplines of healing we benefit the whole community we live and work in.   

6. New members mean new casseroles at potlucks!
