Trinity Episcopal Parish

Stewardship Committee

Mission Statement

It is the mission of this Committee:

To demonstrate good stewardship by the manner in which we live and in the manner in which we give.

(We accept the tithe as the biblical standard of giving and, if not now tithing, we pledge to work toward that minimal goal while practicing proportional giving. We encourage this parish family to join with us.)

To create a process by which we convert from maintenance to mission in the prioritization of the use our gifts of time, talent and money.

(The process will be presented to the vestry for consideration and application if acceptable.)

To encourage a clearer understanding of stewardship as a process by which we acknowledge and appreciate that we ourselves, and all that we have, are of God's creation.

(Once understood, it is reasonable that we should return to God a portion of his “things” as we say at the Offertory. A portion of our earnings obtained through his gifts to us of the time he has given us here, the talent he has endowed us with, that results in our income. What portion of that money should we return in thanksgiving for all the “things” we have received and accumulated? It is in this area that we hope expand our perspective.
